Jo Lynch - TAG member since 2011
TAG asked multi-talented Artist Jo Lynch for the story behind her painting "Purple Hearts".
"The idea for this painting was sparked by my wish to honor a deceased family member who had a distinguished military career. Although he faced serious adversities and made sacrifices, as many veterans do, my memories of him are full of the great love he devoted to his family and the way he brought warm humor and fun wherever he came. Everyone described him as having a great heart. To illustrate the love theme, I chose the locket and heart shaped bottle. The links of chain wrapped throughout symbolize his steadfastness. The transparency of the glass stands for his total honesty. And the way the light passing through the glass lays rich hues upon the fabric, reflects how he colored and enriched our lives."
