Joey Frisillo - Fine Artist working in Oil and Pastel
Artist Statement:
From an early age I have been fascinated by nature. Taking Sunday drives in the country, being thrilled by flowers in the garden or watching light sparkle on water have each fueled my awe. I love the challenge of capturing the many moods & elements of the landscape. Recently I have incorporated palette knife and cold wax medium with oil paint as tools to add even greater expressive boldness in my work. Abstraction is another aspect of painting I have been exploring as well.
Quote from a new collector about Joey's painting “Poppy Field” in which she incorporates cold wax and palette knife into the work ("Poppy Field" is the painting in the header)
"I love poppies, but I have never purchased a painting of them because I didn’t see any paintings that did them justice... until now. This painting just screams poppies. The color and composition are wonderful. What attracts me to a piece is color, composition and subject matter last. I loved all three with this painting."
