Karin is originally from Germany, lived in Czechoslovakia and later in Canada. She is a naturalized American citizen and the U.S.A. has become her final home. She worked as mechanical engineer designing plumbing and A/C for 30 years. After moving to the U.S.A. in 1990 she has been pursuing her carrier as an artist. Karin has been active for many years in the Muskogee and Tulsa art communities. She is a member and supports Muskogee Art Guild, Tulsa Artists Guild, Tulsa Art Coalition, Oklahoma Visual Art Coalition and the Tulsa Art Civic Association Alpha Rho Tau, where she has held many Board positions. Her artwork is on display at the Muskogee Newspaper Phoenix property, Muskogee Armstrong Bank, Muskogee Civic Center, and Acme Engineering & Manufacturing Company. Karin designed a logo for Muskogee fundraising organization “Women Who Care” supporting breast cancer patients. Karin also designed and painted banners for many of the annual Azalea Festivals organized by Muskogee Parks and Recreation. Each year Karin supports Tulsa Art Coalition by donating paintings for the “Miniature Paintings 5" x 5" Show”. She donated her paintings for a fund raising shows “Greater ASSets Art” organized by the Colon Cancer Coalition as the colon cancer awareness. The style of her work has changed over the years. She moved away from strictly traditional realistic painting to contemporary and abstract painting. Her work has been exhibited in many galleries and museums in Oklahoma. She has received numerous awards for her artwork in oil, acrylic, charcoal and 3D media. Her paintings are in private collections in the U.S.A. and Europe. "I enjoy the freedom of contemporary and abstract painting based on my creativity and independency on the real image of subjects. Both styles allow me to be spontaneous, to play with colors and forms, to use different materials, to express my feelings. The possibilities in the abstract painting are endless. If a viewer connects with me through my art as it was created just for him/her, that’s the biggest award.” says Karin. "One of my goals in my artistic activity is to contribute to the cultural life of the community where I live. Art is and always will be part of my life".
