Pat Flanagan is best known for her inventive pursuit of industry knowledge while developing new methods to achieve in-house finished sculptures with a relentless determination of perfection. Born in Woodland, California in 1959 and moving to Arkansas in 1966, she grew up in a large family of eight and attended small rural schools. There were few opportunities to express her natural talent of art but was inspired by her High School Art Teacher. Throughout her younger years she continued developing her self-taught artistic skills in pencil, charcoal, and oils. After moving to Oklahoma City in 1980 she started a long term career in the Oil & Gas Industry. Working fulltime she pursued a Business Degree at night. With encouragement from her Aunt, an Artist, she took several art classes in college to further advance her skills. Pat has applied her talent in many forms of art but could not quite find her niche. Her interest in sculpting came about in 2015 after doing a couple of pieces of Paper Mache. Once again, with the encouragement from her Aunt, she began clay sculpting and fell in love. After attending and joining the Oklahoma Sculpture Society (OSS) she took workshops on human figurative and portraiture sculpting. This inspired her to learn and apply the beauty of the human anatomy to her work. Whether her pieces are clothed or nude she has a message and story to tell in every piece. Pat uses air-dry and paper clay to create one-of-a-kind sculptures. She also uses oil-based clay, makes her own Mother mold, cast, and finishes the piece in faux bronze. Pat sculpts and paints in her home studio in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Education: Prairie Grove & Hartman High School, graduated 1977 Oklahoma City Community College, Assoc.
